The Neuroscience Target Validation (TV) Research Associate will be a key member of a team executing on early discovery efforts for indications relevant to the CNS/PNS. Specifically, the TV Associate will design, conduct, and analyze experiments aimed to guide multiple target validation initiatives. Candidates should be highly motivated and possess significant experience with rodent-based neuroscience research. Preference will be given to those experienced with histology/microscopy techniques, stereotaxic surgeries, in vivo viral vector delivery, and chemogenetic/optogenetic tools. Candidates should also have a firm grasp of molecular biology and possess the ability to learn and apply single-cell RNA sequencing methods to drive novel discovery. Successful candidates must be able to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment and possess outstanding written and oral communications skills.


  • Histological processing, imaging, and analysis of rodent CNS/PNS tissues (cryosectioning, immunofluorescence, In situ hybridization)
  • Stereotaxic viral injections
  • Dissociation and purification of neurons
  • Preparation of single-cell RNA sequencing libraries
  • Data organization and presentation


You must have:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in neuroscience, biology, or related field of study
  • Experience working with experimental mouse models
  • Experience with mouse survival surgeries
  • Experience with histological techniques

Additional preferred experience includes: 

  • 1 or more years of full-time research experience in an academic or industry setting
  • Experience with single-cell/single-nuclear RNA sequencing technologies
  • Experience with RNAscope in situ technologies
  • Experience with chemogenetic and/or optogenetic applications
  • Experience with establishing and maintaining primary neuronal cultures
